Do Facebook and social media change relationships?
That’s how Facebook changes the game at reunions.
Trust me, you would have been searching for many exits to that conversation with a long lost friend from a club you hardly remember being in. And, fundamentally, while there’s always the “look how I’m doing” motivation for going to reunions, that really can’t be all.
Saw this post from the daughter of a high-school buddy of mine (different high school), and thought some of you might enjoy it. Of course, this is OUR 40th reonion, so we are all much more relaxed these days…. Correct?
We’re definitely doing a nice dinner and get-together on Saturday evening August 14, 2010. Would you like to do more? We need your help finding our classmates! If you are in touch with classmates, don’t assume they are aware of the next reunion or this web site. Please contact them and encourage them to register here. And if you know of classmates who are deceased, please send us their names and any information you have.

Whether or not you attended the 40th reunion, we encourage all members of the WRHS class of 1970 to register and set up a profile on this site. Then you can get in touch with your classmates and we can update you on the next reunion.
Once you register, you will be able to see profiles for other classmates who registered, plus past reunion directories (1980, 1990, and 2000), yearbook and activity photos, and more. Your profile here is visible only to other classmates who register, and in your profile you set the amount of information you want to display. After you register, you can come back at any time and modify your profile.
If you are interested in advertising on the web site, please contact us. The reunion committee has arranged for the web site to be up and running for at least the next 4 years (although the plan is to keep it running continuously until the next reunion), so your ad will be visible for a long time. We have Silver Sponsorships available for $250 (less than $30 per year!): a business card sized ad in the next print directory and on the Sponsors page of the web site with a link to your web site, plus one reunion admission ticket; and two Gold Sponsorships for $1000 each (less than $10 per month!): a full-page ad in the next print directory and on the Sponsors page with link AND your company name and link to your web site in the sidebar of WRHS1970.com–which appears on every page–and two reunion admission tickets.
